Mark gained qualifications as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and Master of Chemical Engineering from Cambridge University and then served in the British Army Royal Engineers as a civil, mechanical and combat engineer, and leader. After that he joined Comalco in Australia as a Principal Adviser in human resources in the areas of assessment and leadership development. After three years there he moved on to DDI - a leading global human resources consultancy - as a Senior Consultant in assessment services and also became an Australian Citizen. Three years later he became a Senior Associate covering all areas human resource areas, with an Australian affiliate of Blessing White - a leading international values based consultancy - before finally setting up his own consultancy specializing in helping people to maximize the 3H's - Head (the mental), Hands (the physical) and Heart (the emotional) - both in and out of work.
During his career Mark has been on a journey, both physically, having worked in the UK, Falkland Islands, Germany, Cyprus, Belize, Mexico, Brunei, Hong Kong, South Korea, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, the USA, China, Singapore and India; but more important, mentally and emotionally.
He has tended to want to get to the destination both physically and metaphorically, when on these journeys, but has come to realize that the journey is what it is about, not the arrival. This was a lesson he faced most starkly when diagnosed with cancer several years ago.
He is the author of A Himalayan Trinity - a "concurrent" trilogy about journeys through serious illness, remote Himalayan villages, and ancient wisdom on human nature, transformed into a practical philosophy for modern life.
Along his journey so far he has picked up numerous organisational psychology, assessment and leadership accreditations, including the:

- Enneagram through ITD
